Beautiful Bondi
My time in Sydney and Bondi was pretty short and sweet, a gentle way to ease myself into my trip of solo travel and adventure. I spent much of my time lying in the sun, eating and drinking my way around town, and just soaking up the aesthetics.
And that’s definitely a word I’d use to describe Bondi. Aesthetic health and wellness hangs in the air, from the nutrition focused dishes and drinks at newly opened Common Supply, to the matching gym sets and slicked back buns of the Bondi girlies, there’s a real wellness presence here which has been both inspiring, and at times daunting.
Bondi Beach
I love how accessible good food is here.
I’ve eaten SO well and not in the over indulgent sense. I’ve eaten real, nutritious whole foods and healthy drinks because they’ve been right there on hand, something incredibly lacking in England. Common Supply was my favourite for this - think takeaway boxes of freshly grilled chicken, beautifully seasoned quinoa and tenderstem with green goddess dressing on the side, or freshly made banana bread and chia seed puddings.
Glory Days, Bondi
I love how active everyone seems to be.
Morning runs, Pilates sessions, surfing, swimming, hiking - you name it, this community is doing it. It’s infectious and just a way of life and I find this so inspiring. I did a breathwork class at Body by Berner with Eddie Nelson which I absolutely loved. I came away feeling so calm, my body less tense, and an excitement to lean into breathwork and what it can do for me.
Bondi Icebergs
I love how everyone seems to be up early in the mornings.
Whether it’s to see the sunrise or take an early morning yoga class, everyone is up making the most of the day. Jet lag didn’t allow me to catch a Bondi sunrise unfortunately, but it truly felt like the whole world was awake when I went out for a 6.30 morning walk along the coast path to Bronte Beach.
Bondi Beach at Sunset
I love the way the brands feel here.
I purposefully and sometimes accidentally stumbled across places that were so well designed, had beautiful branding, were the best kind of boujee and just had these incredible atmospheres. I came home having completely fallen in love with brands that feel magic yet like real life. Places and businesses that feel like a direct link to the people behind them, where everything from the logo to the atmosphere to the way someone greets you just feels completely intentional and considered.
The whole of Australia left me feeling so inspired and excited by life, and gave me a whole new career too!
